Hero is a Finnish Warmblood gelding born in 2012. He came to me at the beginning of 2016 as a rehabilitation project. Before his arrival, he had been broken in, but during this time, he developed some serious problems with his hind legs that resulted in the vet giving him a death sentence. I had the opportunity to take him on and give him a second chance. With careful rehabilitation and a lot of groundwork to strengthen his body and improve his coordination, I could begin breaking him in again from the start. He is a very sensitive horse with very elastic movements, so it has been important to take it slow to make sure his body develops strength before I ask for more. We have competed at the Intermediaire level and are schooling the Grand Prix movements at home. He is a horse who has challenged me in so many ways, making me think outside the box and causing me to check myself in the mirror a thousand times. However, with every piece of the puzzle I solve, the feeling he gives me is just incredible and makes all the hard work with him worth it.
